 Take for instance all the weddings, or graduations, etc. that you probably already know you'll be invited to. Do you have your "outfit" figured out yet? Maybe a dress or skirt/shirt combo. Do you have the perfect shoes to make it really pop? How about the accessories like jewelry or a great handbag? For a dressy wedding J.Crew has a ton of options. One of my favorites is the Lyndsey cotton cady dress. So lovely. Ann Taylor has their Celebrations collection along with a bunch of others to choose from.
But what about the casual picnics, golf and poolside parties? I have always found it absolutely necessary to have at least 2, maybe even 3 if your really social, options available at all times for these casual, sometimes impromptu parties. Cropped pants and a fun top work great here. Banana has some great options. Or maybe a cute skirt and top. Ann Taylor Loft always has a ton of choices at oh so affordable prices. Check out the floral printed pintuck skirt for just $39. Very cute and easy with a tee you already own. Oh, and don't forget the shoes. You still need a great pair to finish the outfit.
And finally, what about an impromptu girls night out? Definitely need a couple of these tops in the closet just in case. Pair with your favorite jeans and great stappy heels and you are ready to hit the town looking oh so fabulous. And this is where you can definitely go cheap - a fun top that you'll probably only wear a few times doesn't/shouldn't cost you a small fortune. H&M has a ton, so does Express. You can find them everywhere really, so shop around. For a little something different try one of those sexy wrap dresses that seem to be everywhere this summer. Forever21 has a ton of them for not a lot of money.
So get yourself organized my friend because nothing takes the fun out of summer faster than having to scramble around at the last minute to put something together. |
