The 58th Annual Emmy Awards - lots of fun!

Call me crazy - I have always loved to watch the award shows and last night was all about the Emmy's.  Conan O'Brien hosted and for the first time in awhile I must say I really enjoyed the show.  The acceptance speeches seemed a bit shorter and a few were even entertaining and O'Brien's comedy was first rate.  Very fun. 

The fashion was first rate as well with an overall color theme of purple.  Jaime Pressley's purple Badgley Mischka halter dress was lovely.  Evangeline Lilly's purple Versace was too, though I thought her hair could have used a little work.  Just a little too flat for me.  And while I absolutely love Grey's Anatomy, I did not care for Ellen Pompeo's look.  The purple dress was ok, but the hair was way too severe for me.  Ouch! 

As for not so greats - Kyra Sedgwick's dress was just too much for me and Sandra Oh's dress was lovely, but the whole package just did not do it for me.  Just too many accessories with all that dress.

But one of my favorites was definitely Maria Menounos from NBC.  I loved the total package from her adorable pony tail and headband to her lacey, high collar Monique Lhullier dress.  Just gorgeous.  Edie Falco looked great as did Portia de Ross. 

All in all the night was definitely about the darker colors, especially purple, red and black and a very glamorous, but simple look.  Some got it right and some did not.  For more details check out InStyle and People.
