 That's right ladies. If plaid is your thing, you're in luck. It's back big time for fall & winter. And if you've never been a big fan, well you might want to reconsider. It's always been a super easy way to spice up your work wear, but you can go casual with it as well. There's nothing like a great pair of plaid flats like these from J.Crew to put a little zip into your everyday jeans and sweater look. Or spice up your outerwear with a lovely plaid scarf. Maybe even a little plaid handbag. This one from Burberry is absolutely adorable. Lots of options for a little more casual dressing.
Here are a few options for work.....
If you don't mind spending a ton of cash on a skirt, this one from Burberry is gorgeous. In the very traditional Burberry plaid colors, this baby is timeless. Pair with a black tneck and boots and you'll knock 'em dead.
Ann Taylor has some really great plaid suits and separates to choose from too in much more affordable prices. Wear traditionally or spice things up a bit with a belt around the middle. And don't forget to mix and match the pieces for extra mileage. Wear the plaid jacket with solid pants or the plaid skirt with a more fitted sweater. Add a belt and some great looking shoes and you are good to go looking oh so fabulous.
And if plaid shorts are acceptable in your work place, Ann Taylor Loft and Banana Republic have a few to choose from. Very fun and super stylish.
And these Nine West platform heels aren't exactly plaid, but the whole stitching things give them a nice "sort of plaid" look. Very fun.
But if you're interested in spending even less for plaid, check out this adorable wool jacket from Forever21. With a crisp white shirt, a belt around the middle and some nice black pants or pencil skirt it would be perfect for work. And super affordable at just $32.80.
This classic blackwatch plaid skirt by Isaac Mizrahi for Target is super affordable as well. Pair with a great black tneck and boots to give you a fabulous, yet grown up look for fall.
Like I said, you've got lots of options here. And you don't need a ton to make a statement. One or two pieces will do just fine. Have fun. |
