 It's as simple as this: skirts are hot this season. You can find them in a ton of different colors and patterns, a ton of different styles and most certainly in a price range to fit your budget. J.Crew has a few I really love, so does Boden, Old Navy and a ton of other stores. So my recommendation...get yourself a skirt sister.
Now I know some of you will wince...you'd be surprised at how many people are just not big skirt fans. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to get my sister to wear one. Frankly I think people are just intimidated by them - which they really shouldn't be. They are as functional as shorts and cropped pants in the summer and in my opinion look a whole lot more put together than either, especially shorts. And they don't always have to be so girly. They can be as basic as a cute little denim number.
I started wearing skirts years ago for basically two reasons. The main reason was to get a bit more coverage on my legs. Shorts these days seem a bit too short for running around town and picking up kids from preschool. But I also wanted to spruce up my casual, everyday attire and feel a little more dressed up on a daily basis. A skirt and a tee just feel more like an outfit to me than shorts or cropped pants and a tee. Now I realize you can add fun accessories like belts and great shoes to make shorts or cropped pants feel dressier. But that's just too much time and effort.
So ladies.....I choose skirts. They're easy, fun to wear and definitely a fashion must have this spring/summer. Really.....you just can't go wrong with a great skirt, a cute tee, and a fabulous pair of sandals to boot.
