Bermuda shorts - do we dare

So I admit I was a little leery of the Bermuda short thing - I am not exactly tall, so I thought they might make me look short(er).  However, what I lack in height I make up for in hips and butt.  I am blessed with not too much of either.  Anyway.....I'm in love.

These shorts are really great.  They give you much more coverage than the average 3"-5" shorts and are perfect for running around town and after children - something by which I measure all my summer wardrobe items by.   And I don't look any shorter especially with a very minimal shoe like a flip flop and I could even pair them with a wedge or heeled sandal and gain a little height.  Either way these are going to be a staple in my wardrobe this summer. 

Be warned though - these shorts can be tricky to pull off.  You are definitely going to want to try these babies on before you leave the store.  And different styles...which there are a lot of...will fit differently.  But don't give up too quickly.  There is a style out there that will fit your body type.  Except if you're like my friend Shari....she's been blessed with a little more hip and butt and cringes at the mere thought of wearing these things.  But boy does she look great in a bathing suit - which is more than I can say for myself.
