Dresses are everywhere for summer

Everyone knows I'm a skirt girl.  Always have been.  But this year I am stocking up on dresses.  They are so totally in right now everyone is wearing them.  Including my sister, which is nothing short of a miracle.  (Now if I could just get my mother to throw on a cute little cotton number my life would be a success.  But I digress.)     

Anyway, if you're looking for one, no fail item to get you through summer looking oh so stylish, make it a dress.  Get one that can be worn casually as well as dressed up and you will be set for just about any event this summer.  I'm telling you.  You can't go wrong with a dress this season. 

Here are a few of my favorites so far......

This silk/cotton tile print halter dress from Banana Republic is super cute and stylish.  Love the halter and the print.  Plus it is so super comfy.  And for $58 their cotton t-shirt dress can't be beat.  Effortlessly stylish and chic.

J.Crew has a ton of dresses to choose from as well including this great looking shift embossed beach dress.  Perfect for when something a bit more conservative is what you need.  Great neckline and fun pockets to boot. 

If you don't mind spending a bit more, check out the summer dresses from Diane von Furstenberg.  How cute is this Dylan dress from Shopbop?  Or this jersey shift dress which was featured in the June 2007 issue of InStyle magazine?  Her dresses are absolutely amazing.

Glamour magazine also featured a bunch of super cute dresses for every shape and size in their June 2007 issue.  Check out a few of them online at glamour.com. 

And believe it or not a ton of my friends and my sister have found a great selection of dresses at JCPenney.  Not too pricey and in lots of different styles and colors.  Definitely worth a trip.

But remember, dresses can be deceiving.  What they look like on the hanger is absolutely no indication of what they will look like on.  So try on everything.  Pick up a few that fit you perfectly, pair with some great looking wedges or sandals and you'll be good to go looking oh so fabulous for summer.  Have fun.

I agree about the dresses. I couldn't find any when I was looking in February before my cruise, but now they are all over. I got a great wrap dress at Penneys. Kohl's and Dress Barn also has some good ones at great prices.
