For a bit more casual look try a belted cardigan and pretty top

This is a really great look for fall.  You can be oh so comfy and warm, but still super stylish.  And you can go a bit more dressed up casual with platform pumps or running around town casual in a pair of ballet flats.  Lots of options here.   

As far as finding the perfect cardigan, Lands' End has a couple that would work really well.  This cotton cable sweater wrap and this wool blend cable cardigan are both really nice.  This Ponte cardigan from Eddie Bauer would work as well.  And I really like this shawl-collar cashmere sweater from Isaac Mizrahi for Target too. 

This pointelle wrap cardigan from Lucky Brand Jeans was featured in the October issue of Lucky magazine.  And this merino tie front cardigan from Ann Taylor is lovely as well not to mention versatile.  It can easily go from work to casual with just a change of pants.  Very nice.

As for pretty tops, you probably already have one in your closet.  But if not, they are everywhere.  Pick a print you like and go for it.  And for a great casual look pair with some skinny matchstick cords from J.Crew and a pair of ballet flats or go dressy casual with these sateen trousers from Old Navy and stylish platform pumps.  These slim cotton trousers from Boden would be great as well.  Have fun.
