 The good news is the sweater isn't bulky. It's a cotton/nylon/silk blend, so it drapes nicely and does not overwhelm me. Plus it's a really nice weight and layers well. I actually really like it. The bad news is the sweater is a bit longer and on me that could be a bad thing.
So I'll let you ladies make the call. Is a longer cardigan on me a do or a major don't?
Here are the details for today's outfit....
-Striped 3/4 sleeve raglan T in blue from Gap.
-Boyfriend cardigan in true navy from Gap.
-Favorite-fit everyday chino in khaki from J.Crew.
-Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star sneakers in navy from Piperlime.

| Hi Stephanie! I like the cardigan, but I know that as a petite, you pay very close attention to anything that might take away from your height/the length of your legs. And I think in this particular color combination, you're shifting the proportion and putting too much length in your top while stealing it from your legs. That said, I like the cardigan and living where you do, you need to be able to layer for warmth. So I say keep it but make a simple change that will fix the problem completely....wear black pants instead of khaki's. Right now, the black is in too much contrast with the outfit and becomes the focal point. If you wear black pants with the black cardigan, the focus will shift to the shot of white that is your top instead. You'll be one long lean line from head to toe and warm at the same time. Also, I would consider trying a slim belt to accentuate your waist and take the whole outfit up a notch - it'll still be casual but polished. |

| You know that is a great idea - trading the khakis for a pair of pants that match my cardigan and adding a belt. I may have to try that. Thanks. I had hoped to wear the cardigan more casually, over everything and anything, but the more I look at this lovely pic (a bit of sarcasm here) the more I agree with you. It's just working "as is" for me and it might be better to try something else. |

| Not loving it my friend. You have such a cute figure, and don't need to hide under a big sweater. And let's be honest, would you ever button that thing anyway to keep you warm? I think perhaps another long cardigan would be better, one that doesn't have the ribbing at the bottom. Because you're so thin, you can wear something that flairs out our has a bit of fun to it, without worrying about added pounds. I'd like to see you try something with a bit more personality, to match your personality! I love the tip given by ClothesMinded, it's one I follow a lot, being on the short but not so petite size these days. Monochromatic, w/ a splash of color up top! |

| Admittedly judging based on just this one picture, I actually like how you're wearing the cardigan. umi1989 has a point about the ribbing at the bottom, but otherwise I think this looks fun, casual and cute. Also, since the sweater is navy and not black, the idea of going monochromatic with the pants and sweater loses some of its appeal. Not sure the last time I saw the all-navy look really done well. |
