To wear the nylons or not to wear the nylons. I just can't decide.

If you're like me you are constantly debating this over and over in your head.  Is wearing nylons in or is it out?  And even if it is out, should I still wear them to prevent frost bite?  Auuughhhh......maybe I should just do pants. (2 comments posted)

Hot Picks from SHOP Etc. magazine

SHOP Etc. magazine asked some fashion insiders (I must have been out the day they called me) what their hot - get them before they sell out - items for spring were.  Of course most of the items were too ridiculously priced to even mention, but there was a trench coat from Gap and shoes from Nine West that you may want to consider. It is my imagination or have we skipped right over spring & summer and went straight to fall?  Seriously.  I was just at Ann Taylor Loft last weekend and prominently on display in the front of the store was a ton of black items with a little red & tan mixed in.  Are you kidding me?

Five shoes every girl should own

They had a segment on The Today Show the other day about "5 shoes for every closet."  Apparently owning a ballet flat or loafer, a black stiletto heeled pump, a sneaker, a knee-high boot and a pair of gorgeous, strappy, high heeled sandals will get you through just about every situation imaginable.  Oh.....if only it were that easy.

Did you watch the Golden Globes last night? It was a good one.

Well the first big time award show is in the bag for 2006.  The Golden Globes were on last night and they were pretty darn good I must say.  Seriously....I thought the dresses were great, most of the speeches were actually entertaining, and the whole thing went fairly quickly.  Not bad I say.  Not bad at all.

Petites and tall sizes - now available at Gap.com

Well the wait is over.  The petite and tall collections have arrived at Gap.com and the selection I must admit is not too bad.  Albeit it's not the entire Gap line-up, but it is quite of few of the Gap favorites.  Which is music to your ears if you happen to wear these sizes because so few retailers actually offer them and it is always nice to have options.

Saks Inc. plans sale of Parisian chain

According to USA Today, Saks Inc. has announced plans to sell its Parisian Department store chain.  As recently as Nov. 2005 Saks Inc. sold it's Carson Pirie Scott, Boston Store, Bergner's, Herberger's, and Yonkers chains to Bon-Ton Stores, Inc.  And in July 2005 they sold their Proffitt's/McRae's stores to Belk.  Hmmmmm.....looks like somebody's cleaning house.

Bold floral prints - they're big for spring

On skirts, jackets, handbags and shoes - the big, bold floral prints are showing up everywhere this spring.  And a good floral too - like bigger prints in navy & white or black & white.  Not the floral that can make you look scary.  Whew!

Not such a great year for Gap

According to USA Today, Gap's sales have sagged or been flat for the last 14 months.  Especially this December where they seem to have fallen sharply.  "Gap has lost its cool," says David Wolfe, fashion analyst at the The Doneger Group.  We couldn't agree more. (2 comments posted)

Denim gauchos for spring

Gauchos - you know those wide legged, just below the knees thingies that your mother wore when she was young.  Well they were big this fall & winter in wool and polyester/rayon and now they're back for spring & summer in cotton and especially denim.  And oh so cute I might add.

Cheap denim at Old Navy

Denim is the name of game this week at Old Navy. You can get jeans for yourself, your man, and your kids for under 20 bucks a pop.  Granted you'll have to find a pair that fit.  BUT if you're lucky enough to find some, grab a pair if for no other reason than to give your "favorites" a break once in awhile and keep them looking better longer.

Is it just me or are more and more people shopping at JCPenney?  It seems a bunch of people I know bought something there recently.....whether it was for Christmas gifts or just for themselves.  Am I missing something here?  I've never been a big fan myself, but all this Penny's talk got me thinking......should I be giving this department store another look?  Hmmmm....... This is the latest "designer duds for less" line to show up at Target.  It's definitely a more fun and funky line....with graphic tees, embroidered pants, etc.  BUT it's available for a limited time only - late January at best.  So check it out and quick because once it's gone that's it. Petites and tall sizes online at Gap

The word on the street is that Gap will soon be featuring petites and tall sizes exclusively online.  Very nice!  Maybe they'll do the same as Banana and have free shipping & free returns - at least on petites anyway.  Even nicer! (2 comments posted)
