How about a bit of eyelet for spring?

Eyelet, the lovely fabric with the little holes in it edged with stitching to make a design is big for spring.  It's showing up on skirts and shirts and dresses.  And adding some to your wardrobe is oh so easy.  Just find a skirt you love and pair with a tee or try an eyelet top with your favorite denim.  You'll look very fresh and oh so fun.

Stores are stocking the basics - for now anyway

It seems everyone is stocking a great supply of basics these days.  From camis to tanks to short sleeve tees and even polos.  It has always been pretty easy to find the basics at Gap and Old Navy, but now Banana Republic and Ann Taylor Loft are stocking them as well.  Very cool.  But will they continue to stock them all season and even all year?  Well that remains to be seen.

Lacoste polos on eBay

These are one of my favorite polo shirts.  They're a little sexier than a standard polo, so they tend to jazz up a skirt or denim a bit more and they always come in a huge array of colors.  However, they are a bit pricey at around 70 bucks a pop.  My solution - eBay.

The platform sandal - seriously hot shoes for spring

These babies are huge right now.  You know the shoe with a little extra height - everywhere.  They come in a bunch of different styles, but my favorite for spring is the peep toe platform sandal.  Very girly, very fun and fresh.

Everything's coming up neutral

If you haven't already noticed, the neutral shades are a big trend this spring.  Not your typical spring colors, but very lovely nonetheless.  From browns to chalks colors to tans to khakis, a lot of stores are featuring a ton of neutral in their spring lines.  So if neutrals are your thing....it's your lucky day.  And if you're like me and they aren't your best colors, may I suggest a little self tanner.

The must have items for every wardrobe - a 3 piece suit

According to Stacy London from "What Not To Wear" every woman should have in her closet a 3 piece suit.  That is a jacket, a skirt, and a pair of pants all in the same material.  She talked yesterday with Today Show's Katie Couric about the reasons why owning a suit is a simple & sure way to boost your style.  And I must say she had some really great suggestions.

The layered look - updated for 2006

So much for the basic sweater/shirt over a cami look.  Not that you can't still pull it off, but ladies that is just sooooo 2005.  If you want to be current you've got to get a little creative with your layering.  Try a 3/4 length sweater with a long sleeve shirt underneath or a striped scoopneck sweater with a colorful tank peeking out.  Very fun and oh so stylish.

JCPenny is on the move

The word is JCPenney is on a comeback.  According to USA Today, sales are up, profits are up and so are spirits.  "It's a kick-ass attitude at Penney's", says Howard Davidowitz.  "They're saying, 'We're proud of ourselves and we're ready.' "  Yee haw, I say!

The Oscars - did you watch?

To be honest there's not much to talk about this year.  Nothing bad to say, but nothing really that great either.  The dresses were lovely, very classic with lots of neutral colors.  The hairstyles too - nothing too crazy and even a bit casual.  Maybe that was the problem.  No big, outrageous swan dress to make us all gasp.  But that's ok......boring can be lovely and it was.

Jimmy Choo shoes - I wish

I don't know if you caught the Oprah show on Monday, but if you did you saw the unveiling of the woman behind Jimmy Choo shoes.  Absolutely lovely woman and the shoes of course, even lovelier.  My only question....why do they have to be so blazing expensive?
