Let the summer fun and the organizing begin....

Well my friends, June is fast approaching and with that means the coming of summer.  Lots of weddings, pool parties, reunions, and more.  So my advice.....get yourself and your wardrobe organized.  Get out the calendar, write down the events and start figuring out what you're going to wear.  It is a bit neurotic?  Maybe.  But trust me, if you don't do it now the good stuff will be gone when you need it.

A pretty dress - it's an easy breezy, full proof outfit for summer

Dresses are the name of the game for summer.  There's the cute little shirt dress, or a flirty strapless number, the wrap, and more.  In prints or solids, everyone seems to be featuring at least one of these must haves in their summer lineup.  And the beauty of these babies is that you can easily change them from casual to dressy just by adding the right shoes & accessories.  How cool is that?

So you just can't do the big tall wedge sandals everyone is sporting for summer?  I hear you sister.  Sometimes the real high ones just aren't practical for running around town or schlepping after the kids.  But have no fear my dear.  I've found a few with a little less height.  So you can still be stylish while you're run' in and a bit more comfortable as well.    (1 comment posted)

Full skirts & fitted tops - great look for summer

Here's a look I love for summer.  A full skirt paired with a fitted top.  Very fun and very preppy.  You can do a printed skirt or a solid and they can go casual or dressy.  Paired with a fitted polo or tshirt and flip flops you are good to go just about anywhere.  Put something a little dressier on top and some strappy sandals and you've covered the rest.

Mix things up a bit with a pair of print shorts

Forget the plain jane numbers - how about a pair of print shorts to spice up your summer wardrobe?  There's plaids, and florals, seersucker, and more.  Pair with a tee and some great sandals and you've got yourself an outfit my friend.  But my advice - don't spend a fortune on a pair.  Prints are trendy, so odds are next summer they'll be something new.

If you're looking for a great basic yet classy shoe that can go from the beach to everyday casual to dinner out.  This is it.  These babies are soooo easy.  And with metallics being the "new neutral" and all, you'll be hard pressed to find something they don't go with.

Episode 5 is up and running - finally

Shorts are a must have for summer.  J.Crew has them.  So does Gap and Old Navy.  But we decided to head over to our local Express to check out their selection.  They've got shorty short shorts and bermudas, dressy shorts, and casual shorts.  And all at prices that won't break the bank.  So join Stephanie and her girlfriends for Episode #5.  (1 comment posted)

Every girls needs a pair of fancy smanzy summer sandals

If you watched Episode #4 of The Savvies Show you know that according to Miss Meghan one of the must have shoes every woman should own is the red carpet stiletto or kitten heel if you prefer.  And if you noticed, the little sandals that are all decked out in jewels and other embellishments are everywhere for summer.  So....I searched around to find a few in every price range. Tara Jarmon for Target

That's right ladies.  It's time for new international designer line at Target.  Out with Luella Bartley and in with Canadian born, Paris-based designer Tara Jarmon.  Luella's line was a huge hit for Target.  We shall see about Tara's.  Check out her collection online and in-stores now through the end of July.

Oprah's favorite white tee

Ok....just one more bit from Oprah and then I swear I'll move on.....for awhile.  But if you caught her show yesterday you'll know why this is just sooooo important.  Apparently, she has found the perfect white tee.  It's from Adam + Eve and according to Oprah is it absolutely fabulous.

I don't know if you've noticed or not, but leggings are making a comeback.  Big time.  Thankfully, it is not the big sweatshirt over the leggings of yesteryears, but it's the same idea really.  Flowy tops, dresses, and skirts all worn over tight, ankle length leggings.  Hello 80's!      (2 comments posted)

If you're a fan of Spanx - you know the great line of footless pantyhose, body shapers and undies that make you look oh so fabulous in just about everything you wear - you're in luck.  Target just added a line by Miss Sara Blakely the creator of Spanx called Assets.  And in true Target form - these babies are a whole lot less than the originals.
