Finding the perfect shoes - not always an easy task

It's that time of year again my friends.  Time to start making a list and checking it twice to make sure you're covered, literally, for all your holiday outings.  Luckily, I think I've got the clothes part all sorted out.  It's the shoes I am having trouble with.  And if you're like me not just any pair will do.  After all this is the holiday season and nothing tops off a great looking dress, pants, or skirt like a rockin' pair of shoes.  However, finding that perfect pair isn't always so easy. Get ready for some serious online shopping

It all starts today my friends with so called "Cyber Monday."  The official start to holiday online shopping.  The idea being many people who were home this weekend shopping the retail outlets will shop by the thousands from work on Monday.  It is the biggest online shopping day of the year?  That remains to be seen.  But one thing is for sure, it'll definitely be big.

The games that department stores play

Don't get me wrong. I'm all about getting a great deal on things.  But when it comes at the cost of my own sanity and my patience, I may have to reconsider.  This is exactly what happened to me on my recent shopping trip to Macy's and Boston Store.  I was already to save an additional 20% on a great looking coat only to be denied - something about my item being "a designer item"  My scarf didn't qualify either - something about it being "an incredible value".  My sister tried to buy plain old socks.  Nothing special there.  Except those didn't qualify for $10 off because it has to be just one item over $10.  Seriously, it's enough to drive you absolutely insane.    (1 comment posted)

Another trend for winter - mini skirts

Minis seem to be everywhere right now.  Cute little, mid thigh numbers in plain colors or plaid and absolutely adorable with knee high socks and Wellies.  And while this look may not be for everyone, particularly those of us over the age of 30, have no worries.  You can always opt for tights and flats instead for look that's just as stylish.

It seems everywhere I go these days, I see more and more women wearing this "must have" look for winter - skinny jeans tucked into oh so stylish knee high boots.  Super cute.  I love the look with a stylish puffer jacket or just a plain jane turtleneck sweater.  And the beauty is you can wear the jeans now with boots and this spring as well with a fun pair of flats.  How savvie is that?
