Here's a look I love for fall.....cropped pants & heels

This is a look I really like for fall.  Take a pair of slightly fitted cropped pants add a super cute girly girl top for wearing now, get a cardigan for a bit more coverage later and a long wool coat for wearing even later.  Add some rockin' pumps, peep toes would be my choice, and you are good to go with a totally fashionable outfit for fall and beyond.  It's a super easy work outfit, but it can go casual as well.  Just change the top and the shoes and viola! a whole new look.  How cool is that.

Ooh la la.....fall has arrived at J.Crew

The early fall line is now in at J.Crew and I must admit it has me wishing for cooler weather.  Lots of fun, oh so preppy with a kick, styles to choose from including super cute vests over printed shirts, adorable little newsboy caps and must have jackets.  Plus if you haven't gotten a pair of super cute ballet flats for fall yet, check out their great selection of to-die-for flats including this absolutely amazing pair of printed calf-hair ballet flats.  Ooh la la.

Updated jeans from some old favorites

Just in time for the start of back-to-school shopping a few of our favorite retailers have updated their denim selections with new styles, washes and more.  Gap has added stretch to their new boot cut jeans.  Old Navy has updated their whole line of jeans adding premium denim styles with fun new names and J.Crew has added more "short" sizes for those of us looking for a little less length.  Plus check out the "The Sexiest Jeans for Your Shape" article in the August issue of Glamour magazine to find the most flattering new pairs for your body type. How cool is that.

Bright colored jeans - I think I'll sit this one out

In or not.  Hot or not.  This is one trend I will not be sporting.  Maybe it's just an age thing.  I don't know.  But this whole bright colored, skinny jeans trend is definitely not for me.  Sure some women can pull them off.  I've seen some great pics of girls in magazines wearing them with super cute tops & wedges.  Even boots.  But me?  I'm not even going to try.  However.......should you, the good news is you can find them at a bunch of the more trendy shops around.  My advice - don't pay too much.  I can't think these babies will be around forever.

The dress craze that started last year is still going strong and, according to a recent USA Today article, literally surpassing the whole jeans & flirty top look in terms of sales. They are perfect for work, fun, and everywhere in between.  And you guys thought I was done talking about dresses.......

On vacation in the North Woods.....

Just in case you don't get my weekly newsletter, I wanted to let you know that I haven't completely forgotten about entering new content to Savvies.com.  I've just been on vacation in the North Woods where the internet service is super slow at best.  I've been enjoying the lake, the sun and the hail.  Yes....it literally hailed here for about 4 minutes the other day.  No worries though, I'm keeping the Savvies Sales & Events up to date and I'll be back next week with all new content and hopefully a new video podcast as well.  Thanks for understanding.....
