A great summer dress from Anthropologie

This summer I am sooooooo going to do it.  I swear.  I am going to buy a few more dresses and wear them everywhere.  From lunch dates with my friends to Saturday shopping trips to out and about with my girls.  Dresses are in and I'm finally getting on board.  Of course it helps that I have already found 2 that I really love.  One is from Martin + Osa and the one I'm wearing today I found at Anthropologie.  Super cute little cotton numbers that can be worn casually as well as for dressier occasions.  How cool is that.

A denim pleated skirt from Martin + Osa

Like I've said before, full skirts are big for summer.  From prints to bold colors to neutrals and denim you can find them in just about every color, length, and fit imaginable.  For today's pic I'm wearing a denim pleated skirt that I bought last year from Martin + Osa.  Thankfully they're featuring it again this year.  So are a lot of other stores including J.Crew and Garnet Hill.  I just love a full skirt for summer.  They're stylish, oh so comfy and a great alternative to shorts.  Try one on today.

Another fun skirt from J.Crew

Skirt season is definitely here ladies and I couldn't be happier.  Full skirts, pencil skirts, minis and more.  So many choices.  So little time.  And everyone is selling them from Gap to Banana Republic and more, but my favorite so far - J.Crew.  I bought their Chevron-stripe trouser mini a few weeks back.  Love it.  Today I'm sporting the brand new Fiji floral linen mini.  Love the linen texture and the bright yellow print.  So cute.

Great alternatives to the basic tee at Ann Taylor LOFT

If you're looking for something other than a basic tee to wear with all your summer skirts, shorts, and pants you should really check out Ann Taylor LOFT.  They've taken the basic tee and kicked it up a notch adding a little ruching here and there, banded cuffs, and more and all at prices that won't break that bank.  Love it.  For today, I've paired one of their Ruched Scoop Neck Tops with a great little cotton skirt I also got at Ann Taylor LOFT for a deal.  How cool is that.

Full skirts are big for summer

Full skirts are popping up everywhere.  Gap has them.  So does J.Crew.  They're very fun and oh so versatile for summer.  You can easily dress these babies up or down just by changing your shoes & accessories.  Plus they're super comfy with an elastic waist and lightweight cotton material.  I found this really swingy style at Banana Republic.  And is if that wasn't enough, I also found a really great white tee at Banana as well.  How cool is that.

Cropped jeans & fun shoes are an easy everyday option

Because if you're like me, not every day can be about dressing up in skirts and dresses and there are always a few days during the week when jeans and a tee are just the ticket.  For spring & summer I like to trade my regular jeans for a pair of super cute, great fitting cropped ones.  I add a colorful tee for a pop of color and another "must own" for spring, a fun pair of shoes, to kick the whole look up a notch.      (1 comment posted)

I'm stepping out in a pretty cami and cardigan. How cool is that!

Ok ladies I going a bit more girly today.  I'm ditching the basic tees and button down shirts for a fun little cami and cardigan.  I always really liked the whole cami/cardigan look.  The set Dina wore on the last Savvies Show was adorable.  However, I always seem to have a difficult time finding a cami that I really like on ME.  Crazy I know.  Anyway, I really like this cami/cardigan combination I found at Ann Taylor LOFT.  Check it out for yourself.

Cute dress for a deal at Gap

It's still annoyingly cold here in the Midwest, but it is never too early to start thinking about all the fun summer parties & events you'll attend and what you'll wear.  This little black dress I found at the Gap might be just the ticket.  Not only it is a great fitting, super cute dress it's also a great deal.  Just $59.50.  Dress is up with heels and jewels for a dressier occasion or pair with some cute flip flops for a more beachy feel.  You've definitely got options with this one.

Layering pieces are great for early spring

It's this time of year when an extra layering piece can come in handy.  Whether it's a cardigan sweater, blazer or a lightweight jacket it's nice to have something to throw on to keep the chill out.  I picked up a nice little blazer from Martin + Osa the other day.  It's the perfect weight for wearing over pretty tops and camis on warmer days and under a heavier jacket on cooler days.  Very nice.  (1 comment posted)

A fun mini from J.Crew

I hate this in between seasons time when you're trying to dress up for a special occasion.  It's not quite warm enough for sleeveless or strapless dresses, but it's no longer winter either and showing a bit of skin might be nice.  Sure you could throw on a cardigan or a wrap, but all that coordinating can drive me nuts.  I'm all about easy breezy and this super cute skirt I found from J.Crew is just the ticket.  The only bad thing.....it's a mini. A dress is another "must own" for spring & summer

Dresses are everywhere again this season.  From wraps and sheaths to prints and solids, there are so many choices you shouldn't have trouble finding at least one great dress for your spring & summer lineup.  I love them because they are oh so easy - just slip one on with a cute pair of shoes and go.  Plus they always look a bit more dressed up than a pair of shorts & tee in the summer.  I found a cute little cotton number at Martin + Osa the other day.  Very fun.
