Save Your Receipts
Buying Jeans - Bring a Man Along send to a friend Don't Touch those Tags

Let me just start by saying this.....you cannot return a damn thing anymore without a receipt. Well unless of course you are lucky enough to have shopped at Nordstrom's and that little sticker thingy is still on the tag which you haven't yet clipped of course....then I guess the no receipt thing really isn't a problem. However, for the rest of the gazillion stores out there....this tip is very relevant and very important.

My philosophy on this one is simple if you haven't at least worn, returned or given as a gift every item on your receipt or your return period has not expired (another major annoyance), you should keep it. Just shove it into a clearly marked envelope or box and leave it there. Seriously, I can think of nothing worse than wanting to return something and being unable to because you can't come up with the receipt. Please note....this would never happen to a Savvie.

Talk Back
Here's what people are saying... (add your own comment)

Looking for a receipt is the biggest headache!! I recently purchased some items from a major dept store that had bought out by another chain of dept stores. I got some great bargains! BUT, somehow in all of the packages and trying to keep receipts together with the different bags, etc. I lost some of the RECEiPTS! I decided that being the person that I am and worrying myself to death about the money I was going to save and then lost (you might could say), I considered selling them on ebay and then that was too much trouble since I wouldn't be making enough for my trouble. The best solution I found was to donate them to a Battered Wifes and Mothers Center in my community. I also donated some of the items to a local shelter. I got a receipt for my donation that can be written off on my taxes! And the smiles that I received for the donation was worth it, believe me! LWJ - Mississippi
