Children's Clothing Stores - for Women
Fill Out the Damn Surveys send to a friend Price Adjustment Policies
So you say you're about a women's size 0, 2 or 4, maybe even a 6....well do I have a great tip for you. Try shopping for clothing at your favorite children's stores. Not only can it save you a bunch of cash, it can save you time as well. You can pick up things for you kids while you're there.  How convenient.

You can seriously find some great deals at children's clothing stores. Most of the time the price for items is about half of what you would normally pay and a lot of the items look exactly the same...sometimes even better. Now I am not saying you can get away with wearing everything they sell at Gap Kids, but there are some items worth trying....denim jackets, shorts, even skirts.  You'll be amazed at how fashionable these children's stores are. So if you see a cute little skirt, give it a whirl. In the end it is you who really has to decide what you feel comfortable wearing. My guess is it will look fabulous. Now I realize this tip isn't for everyone and I apologize. But there are women in this world who can wear a children's size 14, 16, or even 18 and it just wouldn't be fair to keep this great tip under wraps for fear of making someone feel bad. That is certainly not our intention here. There are women off different shapes and sizes in this world....all of which are beautiful. So let's be secure in who we are and what size we wear. And if we can save our smaller sisters a few bucks with this helpful tip I say go for it. After all, if we can't look out for each other who will?

This has worked especially well for me at Old Navy (and therefore Gap??). I think their designers realize girls start getting more hippy around 12 and the clothes fit pretty well. I've also done this with sweaters (Target), but watch out for the fabric- sometimes your chest will stretch kiddo-sweaters more than they would adult-sized ones.

What about on the opposite end of the spectrum for larger women? There aren't as many options unless you want to start shopping in the Maternity sections of dept. stores or online....

Mimi, I think you need to reread the paragraph above.

I tend to be in the XS sizes for women's clothing and have found that Old Navy has some of the cutest graphic tees for kids that are inexpensive and fit me just perfectly! As much as I don't want to encourage little girls dressing "older" too soon, I LOVE the deals that I find by shopping in their section!

I buy some children's items, my NorthFace Fleece is a child's extra large. (I wear a 6 or Small top)Besure to check sleeve lenght is all. It fits great and I paid only 79.95 compared to 179.95. This also works for children's sneakers I always check the childrens section for sneakers and flip flops.
